Monday is always a busy day in the market, farmers and traders continue to supply the market with different types of commodities from different areas of the country.
As of today, the commodity supply was good in most sections especially tomatoes, oranges , sweet potatoes, unshelled groundnuts and shelled roundnuts.
A 15kg pkt of potatoes was sold at $8 while an 18kg pkt was pegged at $10-11. The major supplying areas were Nyanga, Gweru, Chinhoyi and Hamara farm.
A 30kg plastic sandak of tomatoes was going for $10-14.
Some of the major supplying areas were Macheke, Figtree, Birchenough, Drummond farm and Hamara farm.
Fresh leaf vegetables were available and today covo was sold at $3 per bundle, tsunga and rape were both going for $2 per bundle.
Cabbage price remain stable at $1-1.20 per head.
The areas of supply were Mandalay farm, Fairbridge, Esigodini, Insiza, Mguza and Matopo.
Gokwe, Masvingo and Rutenga were the major supplying areas of field crops such as shelled groundnuts, unshelled groundnuts, shelled roundnuts and cowpeas.
Shelled groundnuts remain constant at $18-20 per bkt, unshelled groundnuts $5-7 per bkt, shelled roundnuts $15-18 and cowpeas were costing $8-12 per bkt.
A bkt of sweet potatoes remain unchanged $4-5 and $1 per heap. The areas of supply were Gokwe and Masvingo.
Bishop Stone Estate in Beitbridge continue to be the major supplying area of oranges. Price per pkt was pegged at $3.50-4.
Gwanda, Chiredzi and Binga were the major supplying areas of chicken makhaya.
The price range was going between $4-9 each depending on size.
South Africa remain the major supplier of dried onions with a 15kg pkt going for $13-14.
Green onions were sold at $1-1.50 per bunch.
Green onions were supplied from Mandalay farm, Fairbridge and Esigodini.
