Agro-ecology and water harvesting in this climate change era

Today WLZ staff and members from Romac Farms, Gamepark, Riverdale and Gambiza in Gweru met for a field day in Romac Farms. The high volume event resulted in farmers sharing information on feminist agro-ecology and water harvesting in this climate change era. Farmers also shared thier experiences for the 2021-2022 farming season. As a way of adapting to climate change, 27 rural women farmers in Romac have grown round nuts (Bambara nuts). These type of nuts are important for women and their farmers as they are highly nutritious and important source of food security.Unlike many other crops they are not prone to total harvest failure in low and uncertain rainfall regions.
The farmers also showcased the different types of crops they are growing.
